This drawing shows the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in Birmingham. I chose to draw the church because it is the foundation of all our summaries. The church was drawn in black and white to show that the bombing was a previous event that happened a long time ago. In addition, the black and white represents a time of mourning. On Sunday, September 16, 1963, a bomb located in the basement went off, killing 4 young girls. The Sixteenth Street Baptist Church was a very significant place in the Civil Rights Movement.
