Personal Writing
By Amelia
Dear Friend,
You won't believe what I saw. I was walking down the side walk near the 16th Street baptist Church. When I got closer a bomb went off. All of a sudden there were police cars everywhere. I couldn't believe that somebody would do that to such a beautiful church. Many people crowded around the church trying to get a better look at what happened. Police had to keep people far enough away that they wouldn't go looking around the church. More and more people kept on gathering around just to catch a glimpse of what went on. I saw people running even kids and whole families joining the crowd. I am pretty sure the families might have known somebody that was in the church, because they tried to get past the police, and they couldn't' get through. When I was standing there my friend came to see what happened. We were talking all about it and we were so surprised that somebody would bomb the church. After a couple of hours people started to leave the church and I left too to go back home.
So I went home and called the rest of my friends and we talked for a while. We talked about how surprised we were and how sorry we would be if someone died. Later that night I went into my living room and turned on the television. I turned on the news channel and they were telling more information about the bombing. Turns out the people who did it put the bomb on the basement steps. That day there was supposed to be a choir concert, but obviously that didn't happened. Also it turns out that four girls died. The police said they were getting ready in the basement for the choir concert and then bomb went off. They died when the basement ceiling collapsed on them.
Even now a week after the bombing everybody is still mourning. The police have found some more clues and have dug in to the basement more. They are still trying to find who did it and why. When I walk down the street everyone is sad. I will write you back in they find out who did the bombing and I hope they do find out. Until then bye.
